4 Travel Destinations for Canadians in 2020

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

While travel as we used to know it has changed for now, there are still travellers anxious to get out and take advantage of reduced capacity on flights, less congested airports and extremely clean hotels. For those interested in continuing their explorations, here are 4 travel destinations we are recommending to our clients.

Please note this information is accurate as of publishing, but travel restrictions continue to change. Please contact us to help with your booking.

1. Iceland: Relax in a geothermal bath, view the Northern Lights, see puffins in the wild, go caving or try some Icelandic food. If you haven't been here before, now might be the time. You won't find it difficult to social distance and you'll be able to enjoy a destination that isn't overrun with tourists.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction: Passengers arriving in Iceland can choose to be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival at the airport or quarantine for two weeks.

2. Greece: The blue waters are always tempting, but especially when Canada is one of the few countries from outside the EU that are allowed in. And, with a direct flight from Toronto, it seems like a no-brainer! Spend the days on the water, hop some of the islands, take in some history and relax at night with a glass of wine and some incredible fresh Greek food.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction: Travellers have to produce a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival in Greece. 24 hours before, travellers will have to fill in a Passenger Locator Form found here with your contact information.

3. Bahamas: The Bahamas are welcoming Canadians to their islands. Many countries are not currently welcome including the US so now's the time to enjoy this beautiful destination. Go swimming with the pigs, relax on the beach, or just catch up on on that book you've been meaning to read. It's also a great time to book your winter vacation here.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction: Travellers will have to produce a negative COVID-19 test taken no later than 10 days before arrival.

4. Whistler, BC: Always a great getaway, but especially now. Hike trails during the day, enjoy great patio weather, or play a game of golf at one of the incredible courses in the area. If you've never experienced the Rocky Mountaineer, we suggest adding that onto your trip so you can sit back, relax and really take in the full scenic experience from Vancouver to Whistler onboard a train.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction: There are no restrictions in place for Canadians travelling to BC.
