Your Covid-19 Travel Questions Answered

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

With Covid-19 at the top of all of our minds, we asked our Instagram and Facebook followers what travel related questions they have right now. Here are the top questions we received along with our answers.

1. Is it a good time to think about booking a winter vacation now? Are there any good deals?

Yes, it's actually the perfect time. We are hearing from our suppliers that demand is starting to pick up for the winter already (people are going stir crazy!). If you are thinking about taking a trip this coming winter, we suggest starting to look at some options now so you're ahead of the rush and can take advantage of any deals that are currently out there.

2. What are some trip ideas we can do within Canada once provincial borders open?

We are getting this question a lot! Some of our favourite trips within Canada have been out west on Rocky Mountaineer, or by coach tour on the East Coast. Both of these allow you to sit back, relax and take in the sights instead of focusing on driving. This summer and fall will be a perfect time to check out those Canadian destinations that are on your bucket list. If you're looking for other ideas, let us know - we've got lots.

3. Should I even be thinking about booking a trip right now? What happens if there is another wave of Coronavirus?

A lot of tour operators and cruise lines are actually developing plans in case another wave happens. If you book through us, we will make sure you are taken care of if anything happens and that you are booked through a reputable supplier. We will advocate on your behalf and handle any cancellations that are required. Many of our suppliers provided full refunds and extra credits to our clients who had to cancel this year because of Coronavirus. Bottom line - we will take care of everything for you.

4. Which cruise lines do you think will be the safest to travel on?

All of our suppliers are working on enhanced sanitization processes. If you're concerned about larger ships, we can provide recommendations on smaller ships like river cruises where you'll be in contact with only a small group of people.

By the way, if you've been working through the pandemic as a medical frontline worker, along with AmaWaterways, we are offering you a free river cruise through December 31, 2021. Click here for the details.

5. How are your staff doing during this? Is your office still open?

Thanks for asking! While the office is currently closed to walk-ins, we are still accessible by email and phone. We are also staying on top of what's going on in the industry and with our suppliers. We are excited to come back though. We'll be hosting our first virtual cruise night with AmaWaterways on June 1st and are really looking forward to it. We'll be discussing the free cruise for essential workers and other things they are planning. Feel free to join us and register here.
